I posted an “event” on my Facebook page that I was going to be photographing at a sunflower field in Fort Mill. A couple of families signed up, but I received word from the owners of the field that deer ate about 3/4 of the seeds and the sunflowers wouldn’t be as robust as we all had hoped {they also had to cancel a sunflower festival they were going to be hosting, what a bummer for them}. Most families ended up wanting to move their photo sessions in case the fields didn’t look good, but there was one mama who was down with giving it a chance and was up for anything {another family signed up at the last minute, I’ll share more about them in a later post}. I had never worked with Sarah before, so we were not only taking a chance on the sunflower field, but we were also taking a chance on working with each other {me hoping she was as laid back as she said in the off chance the sunflowers didn’t look good at all, and her hoping that I could make the fields look good as well as deliver awesome photos}. Sarah did not hesitate to bring her husband and sons out for some gorgeous photos in the sunflowers at the perfect sunset time, she was ready for anything and they were all laid back and fun. So, of course I held onto my photography permit {even if it was just going to be for this one family to have a session} and it was WORTH IT!!! This family is the absolute sweetest and look like they should star in a Hallmark movie. It was an honor to photograph them and spend time documenting this sweet family. The boys even invited me to have ice cream afterwards and to come meet their dog, they’re the absolute sweetest!
