There are some sessions that stay with you long after the camera is put away.
This family stepped in front of my lens for the first time since experiencing a profound loss. And while this session held grief, it also held laughter, tenderness, connection, and so much love.
One thing photography has taught me is that family photos are not about perfection. They are about presence. About preserving the way hands are held, the way children respond, the smiles that return even after heartbreak.
Sometimes showing up for photos is an act of healing in itself.
These images are about honoring where this family is now, while carrying love from every chapter before. They are about the love that remains, the memories carried forward, and the beauty of continuing to tell a family’s story through every season of life.
I felt incredibly honored to document this chapter for them.
