Headshots | Tips To Help You Look Your Best

Get a good sleep the night before...

I know this isn't an easy one all the time, but the more relaxed you are for your session the more you will look relaxed in your photos. Also, drink plenty of water the day before.

What to wear...

I suggest wearing what you would when meeting a potential client. Have your top ironed. If you normally wear glasses, but choose not to for photos, take them off at least 15 minutes prior to your session to help reduce the red marks.

How to pose...

Place your body at a 45º angle to the camera and turn your head towards the camera (don't worry, I will help). You'll want to stand tall and either drop your arms to your side or even put your hands in your pockets.

Work with your "best" side...

We all have one, lol. I always say practice in the mirror to help you out and if you'd like we can take photos from both angles if you're unsure.

The "squinch"....

The what? It's a mix of a squint and a pinch. It just reminds you to relax your eyes and maybe even squint them just slightly (just a "pinch") so that you don't get the "deer in headlights" look. Some people widen their eyes for the camera when it feels awkward, so it's just a helpful reminder to relax your eyes.

Relax...

I know, easier said than done, but I'm not here to judge you, so rest assured I will do my best to get your best for you!
